The 2009 Pasadena Chalk Festival is on this weekend, June 20th & 21st from 10A-7P. The world’s largest street painting event will draw nearly 600 artists from across Southern California, who will use 25,000 sticks of pastel chalk to create spectacular murals on pavement the size of two city blocks!
This successful event now in its 17th year attracts 100,000 visitors to Paseo Colorado each day during the exciting two-day festival. Amazing works of art from every style imaginable, classical to contemporary, whimsical and fantastic to socially relevant, will be created for onlookers over the course of the weekend.
This one-of-a-kind public art event is free-of-charge and is presented by Paseo Colorado and The Light Bringer Project, a Pasadena-based cultural arts organization that has served Los Angeles County since 1990.
