My friend just spent the day at Glen Ivy Spa for free on her birthday. She did an exfoliating mud scrub, sat in the mineral hot springs, then had a seaweed wrap, and spent the day lounging by their pool with a pina colada. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. I'm definitely heading there on my special day!
If you go:
Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa
25000 Glen Ivy Rd.
Corona, Ca. 92883

My other standard is the Baskin Robbins birthday club. Register in advance for a coupon for a free cone anytime within a week of your birthday.

OMG- wish I'd known about this! My husband and I just had our birthdays in March. I love this place but haven't been there for years.
ReplyDeleteWill definitely remember the tip for next year though! Thanks!
Free birthday stuff:
-one free entree at our favorite Indian restaurant in Pasadena (there are other locations)- Akbar.
-free mini facial at Origins if you go there and put yourself on their mailing list
My favorite one used to be when I had cats- at one of the big pet shops- Pet Smart maybe- you give them your pet's bday and they send you a postcard in the mail- happy birthday to ____ and $5 or $10 off any item.
Oh- I just remembered one more- at Burke Williams spa, call and ask what they offer. I've gotten a free birthday milk or lavendar bath before.

ReplyDeleteJust spoke with a rep at Glen Ivy. You just walk in with your ID to get in for free for your birthday. They just recommend advanced reservations for services (ie. massages, etc). Fantastic!
Thank you again.
A friend also told me Disneyland gives you free admission on your birthday. I can't go this year, because I'll be at the spa (!) but that may be my choice for next year.

One thought about signing up for these offers: Instead of divulging a child's actual birthday, Great idea: why not come up with a half birthday or a summer birthday and use that instead? With identity theft such a growing crime, I'm hesitant to divulge any of our family member's real birthdays. Another idea is to use various dates throughout the year for birthday offers, so your family isn't getting bombarded with free meals and ice cream cones during only one month of the year.
