Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa Free on your Birthday!

My friend just spent the day at Glen Ivy Spa for free on her birthday. She did an exfoliating mud scrub, sat in the mineral hot springs, then had a seaweed wrap, and spent the day lounging by their pool with a pina colada. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. I'm definitely heading there on my special day!

If you go:
Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa
25000 Glen Ivy Rd.
Corona, Ca. 92883
58 miles from Los Angeles,
34 miles from Anaheim,
or 87 miles from San Diego.

My other standard is the Baskin Robbins birthday club. Register in advance for a coupon for a free cone anytime within a week of your birthday.

What's your best free birthday giveaway tip? Let me know in a comment below, and be sure to tell me by August 23rd (that's my birthday!).

  1. OMG- wish I'd known about this! My husband and I just had our birthdays in March. I love this place but haven't been there for years.

Will definitely remember the tip for next year though! Thanks!

    Free birthday stuff:
-one free entree at our favorite Indian restaurant in Pasadena (there are other locations)- Akbar.
-free mini facial at Origins if you go there and put yourself on their mailing list

My favorite one used to be when I had cats- at one of the big pet shops- Pet Smart maybe- you give them your pet's bday and they send you a postcard in the mail- happy birthday to ____ and $5 or $10 off any item.

  2. Oh- I just remembered one more- at Burke Williams spa, call and ask what they offer. I've gotten a free birthday milk or lavendar bath before.

  3. From Kimberly Kirven, via email:

Just spoke with a rep at Glen Ivy. You just walk in with your ID to get in for free for your birthday. They just recommend advanced reservations for services (ie. massages, etc). Fantastic!

    Thank you again.

  4. A friend also told me Disneyland gives you free admission on your birthday. I can't go this year, because I'll be at the spa (!) but that may be my choice for next year.

  5. Cold Stone Creamery just sent me a coupon for one free ice cream +1 mix-in served in a cup. The coupon's good for one week following my birthday at a specific location only (you choose your store before printing the coupon). Find them at

  6. Daphne's Greek Cafe will email you a coupon for a free plate good anytime during a two-week window around your birthday. Signup online here

  7. Sign up for The Chef's Table, Benihana's email club, and get a birthday dinner gift certificate worth $30

  9. Hornblower cruises offers a deal for the birthday girl/guy: Birthday guest cruises FREE when you buy 3 full fare adult tickets on our Brunch or Dinner Cruise! Reservations ARE required.

  10. Thanks to LA Freebie for this tip

If you were born during the winter months than this one is for you: Get a complimentary “All Day” ski-lift ticket on your birthday to any of the following Southern California Ski Resorts:,,,

Valid ID must be presented at the resort ticket office.

Offer includes: free skiing, free snowboarding, ride free, free ski-lift ticket, free night skiing (where available).

  11. Here's DQ's club: They'll send you a 2-for-1 coupon for blizzards upon joining, and again on your birthday!

  12. One thought about signing up for these offers: Instead of divulging a child's actual birthday, Great idea: why not come up with a half birthday or a summer birthday and use that instead? With identity theft such a growing crime, I'm hesitant to divulge any of our family member's real birthdays. Another idea is to use various dates throughout the year for birthday offers, so your family isn't getting bombarded with free meals and ice cream cones during only one month of the year.
