Walking Tours of Downtown LA

The Los Angeles Conservancy is a trove of historical and architectural information. They offer a great variety of tours, both docent-led, and self-guided. I haven't been to any of them, but this is my newest resource for cheap/free entertainment, where I'll get in a little exercise as a bonus! Click on their tour "partners" to see a list of tours run by other organizations, and notice the events that are noted as free!

Find Podcast Tours, free chapter downloads for self-guided walking tours that you can put on your MP3 Player via iTunes, available here. The "Historic Tour" starts at Union Station and ends at the Public Library, with 11 stops. There's also different routes and podcasts for Arts & Culture, Shopping, and International Tours.
